When I Realized I Did Not Belong

Have you ever had a dream that seemed so real? I woke up one morning and came to the conclusion that I just had one of the best dreams of my life. Within a few seconds it hit me, it was just a dream. That thought did not sit right with me. Sitting on my bed, I remembered asking myself, why should I settle for the memories of my dreams? I wanted to turn my visions into reality. After all, isn’t that what life is all about?
I have felt like a statue for years, but when I thought about how wonderful I felt that morning, I knew it was time for a change. In that moment I realized I did not belong.
Let me explain:
Sometimes in our lives, we find ourselves getting comfortable with who we are, and that’s not always a good thing. I did not want to be comfortable anymore. Everything seemed so familiar and routine. I wanted to expose my mind to different horizons because with the unknown came new challenges, and with new challenges lead to self-discovery. I wanted to be found.
I created a new path by accepting that I did not belong to what I was currently occupied with. I wanted something new. I wanted to grow.

Message from Mo: Allow yourself to grow by letting go.
You will hear voices in your head telling you that you cannot do the things that your heart truly desires and it is okay. However, what is not acceptable is entertaining those negative thoughts. We have the ability to say NO to our negative mind, use it! I deserve better, I deserve my goals and my dreams. This is the first step. You come to realize that you open the gate to a new world that you subconsciously refused to admit exists for you. It is now up to YOU to explore and discover what is out there.
So far this year, getting accepted into Newcastle University (UK) was one of the best moments in my life. I did not imagine I would be spending half of 2016 away from my home and family. I have the opportunity to study at one of the most prestigious universities in the world for a semester.

I have gone years without truly envisioning myself in the places I wanted to be. But things changed for me when I changed for myself. It is advisable to speak your dreams into existence. Speak it, declare it, claim it and BELIEVE in it. Believing that your dreams can come to pass is very important because without this, the thought of success is obsolete.
It took a lot of growing to realize that I was deserving of the things that I wanted. If I am deserving of my dreams and aspiration, then you are too. When I realized I did not belong, I was then found. I understand now that I have a future and Newcastle University is just the beginning. Decide to believe in yourself, decide to want more out of life. This doesn’t make you selfish, it makes you free.
With love,
Mo
