REBORN

Reborn
The sound of a clap echoes the room,
As I stand silently listening until the world is still.
Nothingness.
Even the sound of my very own breath still drowning and falling, lower and lower.
Sunken.
When I closed and opened my eyes, there I stood in abyss still surrounded by you.
Pain.
You pointed at me and laughed at my face
You spate at me and throw me to the ground.
Defeated.
I sat naked covered in nothingness but you
But she held my hand and comforted me, prayed for me, and hailed for me.
Courage.
Even when she gazed at, she looked up and gazed at me.
Rise.
She reached out her hand and still pulled her way to me.
RISE!
I reached out my hand and I sat there amazed with you, I and me.
Reborn.
Writer’s note:
It took me a long while to complete this poem. The words to express what was going on within me did not come all at once so it was never written instantaneously. I don’t usually express myself through poetry but when the words come to me I let them flow.
When it’s come to writing, I’ve learned it’s best to never force it but to just let it flow. It is quite similar to the principles of living a stress-free life.
When I wrote Reborn I was going through a very difficult time in my life. There where times I struggled and there were times I felt dead inside and in a way I was, but somehow, I resurrected.
Reborn talks about the resilience of the soul through hardship.
Life is hard and sometimes it feels like the hardest thing to do is to live in this world but I realized that we find the best experiences through living. When we fall, we pick ourselves back up because in every one of those moments we recreate ourselves to a stronger and better version of who we once were. We choose to rise like the Phoenix over and over again. We choose to be Reborn.
