5 Things to Consider Doing If Single on Valentine’s Day

It’s the month of February and you know what that means? Valentine’s day! This is a day that usually brings either great joy or extreme sadness to most of us. I have nothing against a day dedicated to love, however, I do feel that every day should be dedicated to love. We should show love and compassion to everyone without waiting for a day to do so. This post is dedicated to the single folks that feel or plan to feel unhappy on Valentine’s day.
I’ve put together a short list of things to consider doing If you are single on Valentine’s Day.
#Treat Yo Self: It is okay to do things for yourself. Treat yourself to the movies, spa, dinner, manny-paddy, or a concert. Whatever it is you chose to do, do it and have a great time. You do not have to wait for a man to do it for you. Show yourself the same kind of love you would want your future man to show you. Love yourself enough to accept the kind of love you deserve, even if that love is from you.
#Show Love to Someone Else: Stop thinking about yourself for once. You know, most people tend to find joy and peace of mind we extending their energy into helping others. You might feel like crap or lonely on valentine’s day but think about how much joy you will bring to someone else who has had a hard time. Think about how happy you’d make someone else feel. Spread the love.
#Have a Girls Night in/out: Don’t you feel better when you’ve had a great session with your girls? I mean, if you don’t then you probably need new friends. Hang out with your single friends, make new memories and have a great time. You could go out to the club, go out to dinner, staying home and watch a movie, or have a glass/few bottles of wine and gossip. You can also even find fun actives on Groupon you could all enjoy.
#Chose to Be Happy: On Valentine’s day, most of us tend to find ourselves envious of other relationships. What others have is theirs and what you have is yours. Rather than choosing to feel unhappy, live your life with a positive attitude. Love yourself and believe that your man/husband is on his way.
I chose to be happy even when I feel lonely. I know that I am loved and I know that God is working with me for my good. -MO
#Write a Letter: Grad a pen and paper (or whatever you use to reflect) and write a letter to your future husband.
In this letter, write about things you would want him to know. Tell him how much you appreciate him, and how much you love him. Talk about your hopes and dreams and all the thing you plan to build with him. (Write to him about whatever YOU want).
I hope you find all that you are hoping for and so much more.
Happy Valentine’s Day
With love,
-MO
